Spring Break ’14 – Orlando

This past Spring break I was excited to finally have the chance to go back and visit Orlando, Florida with my boyfriend Vlad. Our journey began with a short drive into Buffalo where we caught a flight to New York’s LaGuardia Airport where we cough a connecting flight to Orlando International Airport. I always get motion sickness and nausea when I fly. I take Gravol befire flying always but this time I took it as little too late and was sick the whole flight. We ended up flying though a storm which definitely didn’t help, luckily it was a short flight and we made our connecting flight and were in Florida in no time.

We stayed at the amazing Melia Orlando Suites Hotel in Celebrations, FL. The hotel was incredibly nice and upgraded us to a beautiful two bedroom, two bathroom suit with a full kitchen and balcony overlooking the pool. We spent the first few days relaxing by the pool and doing some shopping. I went on a huge Victoria Secret shopping spree, got some new Nike’s and found the awesome retro L.A. Kings Hat! (It was during the Playoffs just before they won the cup!!!)

On our first adventure we went to The John F. Kennedy Space Centre; it was one of the main reasons we went to Florida. We had planned to go see a Space X cargo resupply mission launch from The Kennedy Space Centre in Cape Canaveral, Florida but it was canceled the day we arrived. Vlad is really into space so it was really fun seeing how excited he was. He taught me so much, it was like having a personal our guide. I also go to touch an actual piece of the moon!

The next day we went  Disney World, my choice of the trip!! I have been once before on a family trip but I was so excited to go back enjoy the magic. Our day started at the Magic Kingdom, we went on a few rides, but it was really busy. Of course we watched the parade down Main Street, and we saw Woody from Toy Story and of course Mickey and Mini Mouse.

Next we visited Hollywood Studios and had some lunch. I had been waiting since I was a little girl to ride The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror after I saw it on TV. It way cooler then I thought, I love how Disney turns this ride into such an experience not just a ride. It was a really long day but we couldn’t leave without visiting the Animal Kingdom, I love the Kilimanjaro Safaris, it’s something else to see the animals up close and is a good break after from the sun and walking all day.

We spent the rest of our trip by the pool while enjoying a few drinks and great food. We had a full kitchen which was a great to save money, we would have breakfast and sometimes lunch in our room. It was nice to be able to eat exactly what you want, even though we went a little overboard with all food at Walmart. After an amazing week in florida it was time to catch our flights home and then a short drive from Buffalo to home.

Thanks for reading my FIRST Travel post! I learned a lot about the layout and how to organize a large amount of content and will defiantly make some changes next time, thanks for reading!
